Dr. Mary Wagner

Associate Professor

Director of Development and Learning Lab

Dr. Mary Wagner is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Dayton. Her specific research interests include (1) identifying factors that promote the development of children's executive functioning skills, including child and family protective factors as well as characteristics of early childhood learning environments, and (2) understanding associations between children's executive functioning skills and their acquisition of academic concepts, specifically in the domain of mathematics.

Katie graduated in 2024. She wants to become a pediatric physician and believes that psychology research is an important part in understanding how to care for patients as a whole person.

Kamyah will graduate in 2025. Her goal is to attend PA school after graduation and pursue a career in pediatrics.

Mitchell Hanson

Mitchell graduated in 2024. After graduation he wants to go to grad school and become a licensed therapist. His research interests are focused on studying the predictive validity of preschool assessments

Joseph Boateng

Joseph graduated in 2023 and is headed to The Ohio State University to pursue a doctorate in physical therapy. He was recently awarded the Distinguished Graduate Enrichment Fellowship which will fully cover his tuition and a stipend during his graduate school experience.

Mackenzie graduated in 2023 and is now pursuing a job in the psychology field.

Jackie graduated in 2023 and received a fully funded graduate assistantship with housing at the University of Denver (DU) to pursue her MA in higher education.

Maya Quale

Maya graduated in 2022 and is now working as a Research Technician in Dr. Todd Braver's Cognitive Control and Psychopathology Lab at Washington University in St. Louis.

Alison Vrabec

Alison received her Bachelor's degree from UD in 2019 and completed her Clinical Psychology Master's thesis in 2021. Her thesis project focused on how parental attitudes toward mathematics impact their child's learning abilities, using novel adaptive mathematical eBooks developed by Dr. Fuhs and members of the UD Computer Science department. She is now pursuing a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Syracuse University.

Olivia LeBlanc

Olivia graduated in 2021 with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a minor in Family Development and a Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) Certificate. She will complete a Fulbright Fellowship teaching English in Estonia, and will then pursue an EdS in School Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Patrick graduated from UD in 2021 and is pursuing a PhD in Human Development and Family Sciences at Purdue University.
